Free audio books for ipod

Listening to free audio books for ipod, has turned into a popular avenue for people, especially “over-scheduled” people, to enjoy a variety of books when there isn’t any time to sit down and read.

When it comes to listening to audio books on your ipod, it isn't always about not having the time to sit down and read. There are some people who simply prefer to be able to multi-task and listening to audio books instead of holding a book and flipping pages is a better use of their time, in their minds. But regardless of the reason why a person loves to listen to books instead of reading them, a free audio book is always something that is welcomed warmly by any book lover.
In this day and age, the mp3 audio book format is quickly becoming the audio book format of choice, because it is cheaper to produce an mp3 file, than copy to a cd, or the old cassette tape format.

There is one thing you must know in order to be able to download and listen to these audio books on your ipod, however, and that is you will need to burn the audio book to a cd first in order to fulfill the “DRM” or digital rights management, that many new audio books now utilize.

To fulfill the “DRM” you simply have to usually just enter a user name and password that was generated when you downloaded the audio book file. This will generally popup the first time you try to burn the audio book to cd. Once you’ve entered the required information, you will be able to burn the audio book to cd.

Now that you have the audio book cd burned, it is a simple matter of copying the audio book file to your itunes, and then you can sync up your ipod and the new audio book will be there for you to enjoy.

There are also many websites that offer free audio book downloads, so you can enjoy recorded books that cover just about every topic you can think of. In order to get free audio books for ipod, you simply search and download audio book selections as much as you like. Other sites will require you to register before you can download any of their files, and still others offer paid memberships and usually have an even greater selection from which you can choose.
